Eat Plants

& Travel

How it started

Eat Plants and Travel is the brainchild of Parma and Simona, a London-based couple who after getting married in 2019 quit their jobs, sold their worldly possessions and stuffed a couple of backpacks with a few clothes, to fulfil a dream to travel the world.

Already on the tightest of budgets, they quickly discovered that being vegan presented certain challenges their meat-eating backpacker friends just didn’t experience.

Over much of the next 4 years, they travelled extensively throughout Asia, the Far East, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.  They did so, successfully, by heavily relying on the amazing vegan and travel community on social media and the internet for essential advice and tips, recommendations, and help to plan their journey.

Parma and Simona started posting their journey on Instagram (mainly so their family and friends knew they were still alive) and quickly built a sturdy online following (5k followers on Instagram is not to be sniffed at!) - most of who were other vegans, dotted around the world.

You may have seen their viral Vietnam train-street Instagram video that somehow clocked over 60m views across multiple channels!

After returning to the UK in early 2024 (having run out of money) they wanted to use their experiences to create a platform where those very vegan content creators they relied on everyday for vital tips and recommendations could work with all those amazing vegan businesses they discovered during their travels - helping each other to grow and reach new audiences.

Using their knowledge from their pre-travel careers in project management & digital marketing they created Eat Plants and Travel - proudly launched in January 2025.

Why Consumer-Generated Content Marketing?

Eat Plants and Travel is a platform created exclusively for the global vegan community.

The idea behind focusing on CGC marketing is to utilise the marketing potential of everyday customers who ordinarily post authentic, trusted and high-engagement content about their experiences on their social media channels.

It works for high followed accounts, and everyday casual posters equally and is a fantastic way for vegan customers to unlock unique experiences, get discounts and find new audiences for their content.

At the same time, it allows businesses to control how content their customers create at their premises and a new way to reach the type of customers they want to reach.

It’s a win-win.

We don’t think CGC is going to replace high-end influencer marketing anytime soon, but there is a clear trend of consumers becoming wary of being sold to by paid-for campaigns, finding them increasingly untrustworthy and misleading - it’s also gradually become increasingly expensive, pricing out smaller businesses.

CGC Marketing done how we do it on EPT is different.

Not only is it a lot more cost-effective for businesses of all sizes, our creators engage more and produce much better authentic content that viewers find trustworthy and reliable.

At Eat Plants and Travel, we believe CGC is the future of social media marketing. We believe it produces content that looks and feels genuine, and best of all - is a brilliant way to benefit both businesses whilst introducing creators to new amazing vegan experiences through our Creator Perks system.

Eat Plants and Travel Magazine

In the ‘how it started’ section above, we mentioned that Parma and Simona relied on the vegan community to help plan their own journey - a lot of that help came from bloggers and writers who post articles, recommendations, brilliant travel guides and tips regularly on their own websites.

We created EPT Magazine as a way to bring together the best-written vegan and travel content on the internet in one place. The magazine allows writers from all around the world the opportunity to get published and monetise their work.

Released quarterly, EPT Magazine is available to read digitally and in print.

The Future

Having only launched in January 2025 we’re still a small start-up - but we have big plans!

We want Eat Plants and Travel to become a budding hive of collaboration opportunities and are focusing on attracting content creators, business partners and writers for our magazine.

Once we’ve hit our initial targets we plan to launch a free training academy to help content creators perfect their craft, and have set wheels in motion for creating our first APP - so our community can better access opportunities on their phones.

We’ve got loads of other things we want to do, such as offer sustainable and ethical travel packages, social media licensing opportunities, vegan hotel stays, publish a world vegan recipe book and… well, one step at a time!
